- Christian P Taylor, Born 1967 in Lancashire, England.
Aged 5 he ventured on to the stage in a Pantomime and was starstruck, he's been on the stage ever since.
With a strong interest in Magic, he chased the dream of becoming a great magician like his hero Paul Daniels and an escapologist like the great Houdini. Many a time you would find him chained to a fence and padlocked by his friends, only to escape, much to their annoyance. They preferred him chained up. When he saw The Amazing Kreskin hypnotize an audience, he knew he needed to learn the art and back then, the internet was a library full of books. That is where he would spend his spare time, reading everything he could find, Hypnosis, Magic, Theatre, Stagecraft, Juggling and Biographies. When he felt he could hypnotize, he would practice on friends and family, who didn't really take him seriously, aged 12.
It wasn't until he was in his late teens, that his "Motor Mouth" paid off and he worked for Club 18-30 holidays, at last away from his home town. The travel bug bit hard and even though he hated working for the company, he loved entertaining tourists until gig ended and he was back in the UK.
1989: He got a job as a Kissagram, he proved so popular with his skinny frame and big glasses, that he became the most requested Kissagram the agency had. He would dress as a Caveman, Policeman and his favorites, The man who came to pubs wearing a white coat and carrying a tray of Cockles, Mussels and "Who wants me Crabs?", singing happy Birthday to the poor hapless birthday person after he'd stripped off to his thong. Not a pretty sight, but hilarious. He would play his harmonica, beat box, sing, dance, tell rude rhymes and dirty jokes and the crowds would love it. No Microphone, No Backing, No Backup. Just him, in his Doc Martens and thong. Fearless.
1990: Working in South Africa with his Dad, Peter Taylor, on Cruise Ships "The Odysseus" and the ill fated but Beautiful "Achille Lauro", he learned all about working at sea and in the Theatre, as in South Africa, he worked as Assistant Stage Manager for the "Billy Joel Show" and as Spotlight operator and on the Lighting desk for the "Cole Porter Musical: Paris in the Springtime". Once sailed back to the UK on the Achille Lauro, he arrived in Southampton June 1991 with a new love of the sea.
1992: Wanting to leave the UK again and after a disastrous move to L'Estartit as a DJ for a campsite, he returned home with money in his pocket and after fruitful weeks of personal tuition from the great Spanish Stage Hypnotist "Jay Luis" who gave him his act "As long as you don't do it around here".
He couldn't wait to travel again and set off with his new Karrimor rucksack to see the World, hitchhiking through Europe he would stay in Hostels and Hypnotise fellow travelers, for fun. By the time he reached Corfu, it was now 1992, he was ready to perform. He did and the first show was a success, everyone wanted to hire him, he worked in two places, got fed, watered, an apartment and money.
Back in the UK, he'd been offered a gig with Bass Breweries, to entertain in their pubs all over the North West of England, some of the roughest pubs around in 1992, he nailed it and thanks to his friend Brian Carter, they took the North West of England by storm.
1993: Under his stage name of Micheal Moon, he was booked to work the 1993 summer season at Blackpool at the Foxhall, he was known as the Singing Hypnotist and packed the venue twice a week for 16 weeks. When the season was over, he was at a loss, but he bumped into an old friend from Corfu, "Andy Gap" and he told Chris all about Tenerife. He didn't need telling twice and within a month he was in Playa De Las Americas, performing his show at the Orlando Apartments every Sunday night as "The Hairy Hypnotist" throughout 1994, Tenerife was his home, but he wasn't happy with his stage name.
1995: Chris reinvented himself and used his old CB radio handle as his stage name. Taking his old Cockle and Mussel White coat, and Rocky Raccoon (Thank you David Williamson) the new Character was born. Doc Strange the Comedy Hypnotist Bloke in a White Coat, he stormed Tenerife. At one point, he had 9 shows a week, all over the south of the island. When he finally left the Playa in 1996, he wanted to travel, but he'd fallen in love with a girl and he ended up in South Wales. Performing shows in the Valleys one minute, being flown to Mediterranean resorts the next.
1997: He was an extra in lots of TV shows such as Fun at the Funeral Parlour, Casualty, The Bill, Dalziel and Pascoe, Skins and Movies such as The Parole Officer and Anazapta filmed in the UK.
1999: he was in Bristol and realized that he Loved the place. It was here that he met his future wife, started his company, became a father and wrote a book all about How to be a Stage Hypnotist called "A Strange Way to Stage Hypnosis: The Honest Hypnotists Guide".
2000: Became very well known on the Bristol Rave Scene and found himself making a living selling Glowsticks!
2001: Established a business named "GlowGadgets" to work from home, where he became a big player in the UK Rave scene as it re-emerged. Importing and Supplying Rae toys Worldwide. GlowGadgets became a Limited company in 2006 and by 2010 Chris had had enough of working from home. Competition was fierce and he was dying to entertain again after spend the last 7 years bringing up his young daughters.
Chris spends most of his time Entertaining Children and Family audiences with his Comedy Magic as Chris P Tee the Funny, Kid's Magician. He sometimes perform hypnosis, but as he's a family man since 2003 and stayed very close to home. Now that his daughters are older, they kind of want him out of the house. So he's started performing his Comedy Hypnotist Show again at Army Bases, Football Clubs, Corporate Functions and the like. Just when he thought he was out, they Pulled him back in.
In September 2018, Chris won the Kidology, UK Children's Entertainer of the Year and is very proud of his achievement as the acts were all very good indeed and he says he got lucky, thanks to his little boy puppet Cheeky Chops who convinced the judges to let him win, by a whisker.
November 2018 and Christian is in rehearsals for "Jack and the Beanstalk" by the Sodbury Players in Chipping Sodbury, his role of the Dame Mary Trotters is the highlight of his career! The Pantomime is in January 2019 and he finally goes back to his roots. Hoping this is a start of a yearly Panto for him.
